Together, our 22 member groups stand for dignity, health, and justice for every sex worker in Nyanza.
KISWA Kenya — the Kisumu Sex Workers Alliance — is a grassroots coalition of 22 member groups across the Nyanza region. We fight for the rights, health, and safety of sex workers, standing in solidarity with widows, adolescent girls, and all vulnerable community members.
KISWA emerged from the frontlines. In response to brutal killings targeting sex workers in Kisumu and the absence of any organisation truly led by sex workers, a group of dedicated peer educators came together with a single, powerful vision: to build something of their own.
Today, KISWA is a coalition of 22 registered sex worker-led groups across Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori, and Kisii — advocating for health, legal rights, and human dignity every single day.
